The film received mixed praises. Anushka Sharma was in the same movie 'Band Baaja Baaraat. The actress played an Punjabi woman in the middle class, who has her own wedding business. The movie got positive reviews. With Band Baaja Baaraat Anushka's three-film contract under Yash Raj Films banner was final.
